Cherished memory of Ilya Trofimovich Bogdesko

March 29, 2010 the national and international community of calligraphers has suffered a dramatic loss — Ilya Trofimovich Bogdesko, a member of the National Association of Calligraphic Arts, a participant of the International Calligraphic Exhibition, a highly recognized calligrapher, a People’s Artists of the USSR and a full-fledged Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, has passed away.

Third day International Calligraphic Exhibition was linked with a vivid event that was a joint master-class of Petr Petrovich Chobitko, Chairman of National Union of Calligraphers and his student Olga Varlamova .

The subject of the master-class was the peculiarity of writing ancient canon, semi-canon, cursive and semi-canon cursive with a broad-end instrument — such as reed, pen and brush.

Presentation of the first and unique handwritten Constitution of the Russian Federation

On 11 September 2008 at 12.00 in the press-centre of PH AiF was presented first and unique in national modern history handwritten variant of Russian Federation Constitution.

This project is a result of collective efforts made by team of calligraphers and editors at the head with a Presidium Chairman of National Union of Calligraphers Petr Petrovich Chobitko. Russian handwritten Constitution is a part of socially educative forum International Calligraphic Exhibition.

Less than a week is left till the 'cultural capital' of Russia, St. Petersburg, will welcome the International Exhibition of Calligraphy, which is organized by MVK Exhibition Company and the National Union of Calligraphy. Despite this ancient art had long been forgotten in Russia, public interest for the project proves that it is in demand and keeps pace with the time.

8 August, 2008 In St. Petersburg the International Exhibition of Calligraphy organizing committee, President of the National Union of Calligraphers Petr Chobitko met with the famous Russian calligraphers. During the meeting they approved the design of the first handwritten Constitution of the Russian Federation.
